New Year, Better You! 3 Tips To Get On Track With Your Fitness Goals in the New Year!

Happy 2021, TG it’s finally here!

OMG my Fitness with Friends friends...let’s get real, 2020 outright stunk!..(well I could use a much stronger word but we are a family friendly brand). Quarantine, isolation, home schooling the kids, gyms closing all contributed to new...or not so new...unhealthy habits. I developed a terrible chip addiction. You name it, plain chips, jalapeno chips (my FAVE!), BBQ chips, kettle cooked or ridges or just plain Lays, I ate them all. EVERY DAY! And then the WINE, lots of wine. I do love my wine.

It’s the start of the New Year and it’s time to get back on track with our fitness and healthy living but did you know that 80% of New Year’s Resolutions fail? Here are three tips to be sure you stay on course this year and make your New Year's Resolution a success:


What do you want to accomplish? Weight loss? Increased strength? Add to your fitness regimen? Stop eating chips? It’s important to go into your journey with an intention. Think about what you want the end goal to be.


Evaluate if you can realistically achieve the goal. If your goal is to lose 20 lbs in 6 weeks, that most likely won’t happen. This will lead to discouragement if you are not tracking towards that goal. Start with smaller attainable goals which will help you reach your overall goal.


Most people are not going to be motivated to start or keep on track with a new fitness and healthy living journey on their own. The key to success is to be accountable to someone. State your goal intentions out loud, commit to them, do it with a friend or join a community to keep you motivated and on track.
