Class Description: Beginner Belly Dance 4 Week Series Step into the world of belly dance in this introductory course designed to make this sensual and rhythmic dance accessible to everyone. You’ll learn basic moves and techniques that will not only help you develop impressive dance skills but also firm up your body and help sculpt lean belly muscles as you get a workout dancing. This course aims to provide an authentic belly dancing experience and show that everyone can learn to belly dance without much difficulty. You do NOT need to wear a belly showing shirt- just needs to be fitted. Instructor Laura Cooper is a professional Belly dancer and instructor who has been shimmying for over 20 years. Classically trained in Cabaret and Tribal Belly dance, Laura has studied this ancient art extensively in the US, as well as Turkey and Egypt. She is a master of both Veil and Sword Techniques as well as zills. A spirited teacher with a passion for introducing beginners, her class offers a delightful workout that focuses on lean muscle development with an emphasis on stamina, strength and grace.
